“Pig Races” — Original Watercolor by Angela Cox

This plein air painting began during the 2026 Marin Fairgrounds Plein Air Competition, where I painted on location and captured the lively atmosphere of the fairgrounds. After returning to the studio, I spent some time thoughtfully refining a few areas while keeping the spontaneity and character of the original plein air experience.

I love the way plein air painting allows me to capture a moment as it unfolds—and this piece brings back the energy and charm of a day at the fair.
