A word from the artist:
“Cheese House in Morning Light” — Original Watercolor by Angela Cox
Painted en plein air at The Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan, Virginia, this piece was created during a peaceful artist retreat. The old Cheese House, with its charm and quiet presence, stood gracefully in the morning light. A white picket fence framed the scene, while soft, warm tones lit the background trees, creating a gentle contrast with the cool, quiet shadows beneath the eaves.
I was drawn to the way the early light touched the building—revealing its textures and history with a kind of reverence. Painting on location allowed me to respond to that atmosphere in the moment, and I hope this piece carries a sense of that calm, golden morning.
NOTE: the image(s) of the painting framed on a wall is from the gallery display at the Alameda County Fair and displays the painting's frame color/style and matting. Painting will arrive as shown.
